Brenda first visited Uganda in 2012 with her church and immediately fell in love with the people. She was deeply moved by the culture, the stark differences in daily life, and the resilience of those struggling to meet their most basic needs. After returning home, she spent significant time reflecting on her experience and felt a strong calling to help.
Since then, Brenda has taken 17 trips to Uganda and developed a profound love and passion for the people she serves. In 2017, Project Hope Uganda was founded, and she believes wholeheartedly that God has made this work one of her life’s purposes. Brenda collaborates daily with our Ugandan leadership team and works closely with Ugandan medical providers to support individuals with urgent medical needs. While she considers Project Hope Uganda her passion and full-time calling, she has also worked as a labor and delivery nurse for the past 28 years.
In her spare time, Brenda enjoys playing city league tennis and pickleball, working out, reading, listening to podcasts, gardening, hiking, traveling whenever possible, and spending quality time with her friends, family, her three grown daughters and her four furbabies.
