Pen Pal Program

Pen Pal Program: Building Lifelong Bonds

Since its launch in 2013, our Pen Pal Program has grown into a powerful bridge of love and encouragement between U.S. sponsors and children in Uganda. Sponsors are matched with a student living in our orphanage or attending secondary boarding school, creating meaningful, personal connections that go beyond borders.

The program’s commitment is simple yet deeply impactful: three letters and one gift bag per year, along with a $50 annual donation. In return, students joyfully write back to their sponsors three times each year, sharing their dreams, challenges, and milestones. These exchanges foster understanding, hope, and a sense of family that stretches across continents.

Over the years, some sponsors have faithfully remained part of this journey for more than a decade, walking with children as they grow into confident young adults. One of the most touching highlights of this program has been witnessing in-person meetings, where sponsors and their sponsored children finally embrace after years of heartfelt correspondence—a true celebration of human connection and hope.

The Pen Pal Program is more than a sponsorship—it’s about friendship, dignity, and encouragement. By joining, you’re not just supporting a child financially, but uplifting them emotionally, helping them believe in their worth, and reminding them that they are not alone in their journey.
